You may have noticed that I have not written a blog for the last few weeks?  This is because I have been experiencing intense emotions and needed time to do some emotional healing.  The first emotion was anger and by just accepting that I felt angry, this means that I did not judge it, analyse it or add a story to why I was feeling angry, I was able to feel the physical sensations of the energy of the anger in my body and not become the anger by expressing it; I could even find the anger amusing.  The anger would than disappear for a few hours or the rest of the day.

 

After about four days of this and being worried that new clients and colleagues might sense the anger, I was becoming a little concerned.  Don’t get me wrong, I think it is healthy to feel all emotions and when the emotion is about what is happening in the present moment than it is appropriate to express it – even anger.  However for the first three days I could sense that the anger was energy moving through my body and was not related to the present moment.  Then on the forth day I noticed that I was becoming angry with other people on the road and was criticising them in my mind.  Then I did actually shout at someone!  I was shocked, he was being an idiot but there was no need to shout at him.  He might of had a good reason for being distracted.

 

When I got home I sat and asked my Higher Self what I needed to do.  The answer was simply to go out with friends and have a good time.  What happened was that we ended up seeing the “Book Thief” an amazing, sad film.  I openly cried through most of the film and these were real tears and felt like a great release.  The next day I felt wonderful.  I had made progress with my emotional healing. 

 

That same day I was guided to read a some information on the five elements principle of Chinese Medicine, in a book about Qigong (I have been practising Qigong for years and will soon take my instructors exam).  I never knew that in Chinese Medicine it is generally believed that “emotional disease are best cured by emotions” (Wong Kiew Kit, p.47, 1993 ).  This is demonstrated by the five elements principle that states that the metal element destroys the wood element – think of a metal axe chopping wood.  The organ that corresponds with the Wood element is the Liver and its emotion is Anger – which is what I had been experiencing.  The organ that corresponds with the Metal element is the Lungs and their emotion is sorrow – I cried my way through the film and this destroyed – got rid of my anger.

    Hi Fiona when I first saw your blog I thought “I’m not angry” and then I had conversation with someone and realised that I am but not in the way I thinking when I first saw the title. It has made me stop and think. Thanks.
